Every #NotUsSC resource is built using trusted research, reviewed by experts, and shaped by the voices of the communities we serve. Our goal is simple: create maternal health information that is accurate, easy to understand, and relevant to Black families in South Carolina.
Our Process
Every #NotUsSC resource goes through a careful process before it is published and printed.
Step 1:
Research
Every resource begins with trusted, evidence-based information from organizations like the CDC, ACOG, and Mayo Clinic.
Step 2:
Development
Graphic designers help us turn the research into clear, easy-to-understand materials that are useful for Black women, families, and communities.
Step 3:
Clinical Review
A group of physicians, nurses, midwives, and others review each item for accuracy and match to current clinical guidance.
Step 4:
Community Review
We invite parents, grandparents, leaders, and doulas to make sure each item is clear and relatable.
Step 6:
Board Review
Our Board of Directors reviews each tool to make sure it aligns with our mission and values.
Step 7:
Final Approval
A South Carolina based OB/GYN completes a final review to confirm the information is medically accurate and ready to share.
Step 8:
Testing
We test our materials at community events to see how they are understood and used.
Step 9:
Publication & Printing
Materials are added to our Education Marketplace and available for any of our initiatives.

Why This Matters
